Working principle of wind turbine

The wind has kinetic energy which is changed into mechanical energy by the blades of turbine. The turbine then turns a generator which creates electrical energy (voltage). The turbine is usually connected by a gearbox to help control the speed it's turn the generator

What is wind turbine drive train?
Wind turbine drive train

Hub connected to Main bearing Generally in India all wind company used SKF &FAG company bearing. Main bearing Generally called but actually bearing name Double Row Spherical Roller Bearings.

Hub connected to Main bearing, low speed shaft, srink disk, gearbox, high speed shaft, generator. This all sinariyo called drive train.

Generally in India wind turbine company used 1 Hansen gearbox, 2 winergy gearbox.


Types of pitch control system

 2 type pitch system using in wind turbine.

1.Electric motor control pitch system
2.Hydrolic control pitch system

In India wind turbine company General Electrical (GE),Suzlon, Envision,Enarcon,wind World India Ltd, used Electrical control pitch system.

Vestas,Simence Gamesha used Hydraulic control pitch system.

Electrical control pitch system better than hydraulic system easy maintenance electrical pitch system and breakdown down time low easy trouble shooting reduce down time.

But mostly wind turbine failure in electrical system such like over speed. In hydraulic system turbine failure chance low because hydraulic system very strong and rust construction wind turbine failure less

But in hydraulic system down time very high such like we hydraulic cylinder replacement work. Lots of time we taken  hydraulic cylinder replacement .

in bottom penal 690v A.C system handle with wind turbine generator output power 2 no's vacuum contector,1 no's soft starter,1 no's ACB.
