Position: Engineer – Field Production
Experience Required: 2–4 Years
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously monitor equipment in the assigned area to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations while achieving production targets.
- Coordinate with the Panel Engineer and other field personnel for timely plant start-up during normal operations and plant upsets.
- Ensure proper shift handover and takeover, and follow up on ongoing jobs.
- Monitor plant and equipment performance and report any deviations to the Panel Engineer for corrective action.
- Ensure zero oil and chemical spills by implementing necessary secondary containment measures.
- Record operating parameters in log sheets and initiate corrective actions in consultation with the Panel Engineer whenever parameters are outside the prescribed operating limits.
- Release equipment for maintenance on time, prepare equipment to ensure safe working conditions, comply with the Permit to Work (PTW) system, participate in toolbox talks, and continuously monitor LEL/O₂ levels during hot work and confined space activities.
- Report field abnormalities promptly to the Panel Engineer or Shift Engineer.
- Ensure correct chemical injection and optimize resource utilization.
- Close maintenance permits on time and ensure equipment is ready for operation after maintenance.
- Complete all assigned inspection checklists within the stipulated time.
- Assist the Panel Engineer, Shift Engineer, and Shift Manager in troubleshooting operational issues.
- Participate in mock drills and debriefing sessions.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the assigned work area.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Hands-on experience in the operation of pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, distillation columns, pressure vessels, tank farms, and loading/unloading operations.
- Knowledge of the COW (Control of Work) and PTW (Permit to Work) systems, including their implementation.
- Ability to perform equipment changeover as per SOPs/Work Instructions and identify operational abnormalities.
- Strong understanding of process systems and unit operations.
- Basic knowledge of field process instrumentation.
- Awareness and implementation of OMS (Operating Management System) requirements and critical field operation elements.
